The Department of Home Affairs also announced, under Ministerial Direction no. 100, visa processing times for educators and healthcare workers will be prioritised, and could be processed within as fast as three days. Within each category under this direction, for provisional and permanent skilled visa applications, priority is given to visa applications where the primary applicant is located outside Australia at the time the visa application is made.

Processing times for visas are also impacted by a number of factors including:

The visa type and the number of places available;
