There are five key elements to an operations strategy:

  1. Planning: Operations strategy begins with planning. The plan should identify how the organization will use its resources and what results in it is looking for. This information can be used to set goals and objectives for the organization, as well as determine how best to allocate resources.
  2. Execution: The execution of operations strategy involves taking the plan and turning it into reality. This includes allocating resources, coordinating activities, and monitoring results.
  3. Analysis: After the execution of the operations strategy has been completed, it is important to analyze the results in order to make future decisions. This analysis can identify areas that need improvement and help optimize the organization’s operations in order to achieve its goals.
  4. Monitoring and Revisions: Operations strategy must be constantly revised in order to remain effective. This process includes monitoring results, creating new plans, and making adjustments as necessary based on these findings.
  5. Continual Improvement: Once an operational strategy has been developed and implemented, it is important to continue making improvements in order to keep the organization ahead of the competition. This includes ongoing analysis of results, adjusting plans as needed, and making changes to operations strategy as needed.
