Originally released in 1990, the Nike shoe was initially known as the "Air Max III" until the turn of the century. It was only a few years later that it was renamed the “Air Max 90” as it is known today. The sneaker bears the clear signature of Tinker Hatfield, who also created the Air Max I just three years earlier.

With the release of the AM90, the jordan 1 mocha designer took the Air Max line to a new level. Originally intended as a performance running shoe, the Air Max 90 was created with a new midsole on two separate pieces for increased durability. The truncated Swoosh, which remains its main distinguishing feature to this day, also made its debut on the classic.

This year is a very special year for the "Holy Grail" because we are celebrating his 30th birthday! On the occasion of the anniversary, Nike is delivering one OG-inspired colorway after the other - and we couldn't be happier about it!

Right at the beginning of the new year, Nike brings the AM90 to our shelves in Hyper Royal Hyper Grape , Volt and »Turquoise« . We are excited to see what else the Swoosh will do this year.

 

Back to the roots! A lot has been experimented with in the sneaker industry in recent years and shoe trends from days gone by have been brought back onto the streets. However, one trend catapults us back to our childhood: shoes without laces.

Can you still remember your first pair of shoes? No, we don't mean your first Air Max 1 or adidas Superstar that you've been saving for a long time. But really your first pair of shoes. For most, it's probably the classic sandbox with Velcro.

Of course, the focus was on convenience and saving time. When our best friend from kindergarten wanted to play outside, it couldn't go fast enough with the shoes. Just slip on and off to the adventure!

 

Slip-On: From skate classic to summer sneaker


In addition to the Velcro version, slip-on sneakers are an even more comfortable solution to avoid having to tie your shoes. Sneakers without laces are particularly popular in spring and summer. But the trend goes back to the 1970s.

Right down to the Southern California skate and BMX scene, to be precise. Here the Classic Slip-On from the skate brand Vans had established itself in the skate parks.

The Vans Classic Slip-On was THE pioneer for the brand and quickly catapulted the sneaker into the lifestyle world. The slip-on was originally inspired by a boat shoe.

Equipped with the robustness of a skate shoe, jordan 1 mocha the slip-on quickly achieved cult status. In the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Sean Penn is seen wearing a black and white checkered pair of slip-ons.

The film later helped establish the black and white design as a synonym for the Vans brand. Since then, the slip-on has become indispensable as a summer sneaker and is completely uncomplicated thanks to its stretchable inserts.
