Copper bromide is toxic and inedible

Comments · 68 Views

When other methylene groups, such as steroids, are present in the substrate, copper bromide can recognize the carbonyl group position and selectively achieve the carbonyl ortho-bromination reaction.

Copper bromide belongs to the sensitive goods in international logistics, its logistics export to New Zealand customs clearance requirements strict documents need to provide more complex, in the face of large quantities of exports to New Zealand traders or regular manufacturers must go through the formal process. However, in life, many of us face small batches or sample exports to New Zealand, which has caused a lot of trouble, and formal customs declaration will cause huge time and energy and expensive customs declaration costs.

Action mechanism

Copper bromide (CuBr) is an effective bromination reagent, which can act on a variety of functional compounds. Such as the realization of the carbonyl ortho-methylene bromide reaction. When other methylene groups, such as steroids, are present in the substrate, copper bromide can recognize the carbonyl group position and selectively achieve the carbonyl ortho-bromination reaction.

Production method

(1) Copper reacts with bromine water to produce copper bromide.

Cu+Br2→CuBr2

(2) Copper oxide reacts with hydrobromic acid to obtain copper bromide.

CuO+2HBr→CuBr2+H2O

Production technology

(1) Copper powder method put 200g copper powder in water, add 550g bromine under stirring, and react until there is a small amount of copper powder at the bottom of the container. Cooling, filtration, vacuum evaporation, crystallization, quickly sealed packaging after suction filtration.

(2) Copper oxide method in the reactor, add hydrobromic acid, stir to add copper oxide powder, reaction to the bottom of the container remaining a small amount of copper oxide, filter. Evaporate to almost saturation on a water bath, place in a sulfuric acid dryer, and completely solidified after a few days, taking care to stir and grind from time to time. Vacuum evaporation until dry, copper bromide is obtained.

Security

Copper bromide is toxic and inedible, causing adverse effects on the human central nervous system, brain, eyes, liver and kidneys, as well as irritating human skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
