The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update includes a number of new locations, such as The Roost, as well as activities with villagers, such as cooking and stretching, as well as new island customization options, such as Island Ordinances. You'll find everything you need to know about the new features that have been added with the ACNH 2.0 Update in this section.

The Roost and Brewster are back in town.
Brewster's Cafe, also known as The Roost, will be returning with the 2.0 update.  Brewster is a pigeon character who appears in Animal Crossing: Wild World but is not playable. You'll be able to invite villagers and NPCs using the amiibo Call Center in New Horizons, relax with a cup of coffee on your own and chat with NPCs and villagers like Isabelle when they visit the cafe, which will be open around the clock. The Roost will be located in the museum, and while gyroids will be returning to the game, it is unclear whether Brewster will store them in the same manner as he did in previous Animal Crossing games.

Newcomers to the Village
The Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Series 5 announcement, which took place during the Animal Crossing Direct on October 15, 2021, included the introduction of nine brand new villagers. Visit our list of All New Villagers in New Horizons to find out more about each of the brand new villagers.

Harv's Island is a small island off the coast of Maine.
Harv's Island, where we can go on our own mini photoshoots, is currently undergoing some major changes as part of the update to thebuy bells in animal crossing. The groovy dog is putting together a plaza with a variety of shops, and we can contribute our bells to assist in getting them up and running on the island. A number of visiting shops, such as Kicks accessories and Sahara's rugs, carpets, and wallpapers, will set up shop there, as well as some new additions that will bring back some familiar faces, such as:

Tortimer, the senior tortoise, will store your belongings for you.
Reese and Cyrus, the adorable pair of alpacas, will now be able to customize items that can't be customized by the player themselves, such as items from the Nook Miles shop, such as the lighthouse, which is normally only available in one color. Previously, we could only obtain a different color by trading, but on Harv's Island, you'll be able to customize your appearance.
Katrina the fortune teller will also be returning, this time with her own little shop in which she will reveal our fortune to us on a daily basis.

Harriet and her various hairdos
In the most recent update, Harv's long-time friend Harriet is coming to the island to bring her hairstyling prowess to the island, which means we'll be getting some new hairstyles to fashion our villagers with. Harriet will teach you some of the new styles when you come to her for a new hairdo, as there are 11 new styles that will be added.

Kits for Permanent Ladder Setup
The days of constantly having to pull out your Ladder in order to explore areas that would otherwise be blocked by cliffs are over! As part of the ACNH 2.0 update, players will be able to craft Ladder Set-Up Kits, which will act as a permanent ladder structure that can be placed alongside cliffs. This recipe will be unlocked as part of the ACNH 2.0 update.  Visit our comprehensive guide on How to Get a Ladder for more information on purchasing the Ladder Set-Up Kit recipe and crafting the various types of permanent Ladders.

Ordinances of the island
Island ordinances are finally being implemented on New Horizons, after a long period of time. Ordinances, as some of you may recall if you played Animal Crossing: New Leaf, allow you to direct the operations of your town, or island in this case. As an example, if you enact one of the island ordinances such as Early Bird, your villagers will wake up earlier in the morning, allowing you to speak with them more effectively. And, as you might expect, Night Owl allows the island to stay open later into the night. It's a fantastic little feature that allows you to tailor the island to your specific requirements, whether you want to play early in the morning or late at night and not miss out.

Increasing the number of exterior design options for your home
To keep up with the times, Tom Nook's home services are getting a facelift, with more exterior options to help you customize the look of your house. As a result, you'll have more options when it comes to personalizing the appearance of your roof, door, and mailbox. And based on what we've seen so far in the Direct, there are some very stylish and interesting options on the horizon.

An increase in storage space
Along with having more options for the outside of your home, you can also increase the amount of storage space available in your home. With three additional expansions available, you can increase your storage capacity from 2,400 to 3,200, 4,000, or the maximum capacity of 5,000 GB. With so many items available in thebuy bells animal crossing new horizons, it's comforting to know that we'll have plenty of room to store anything we decide to add to our collection.

Cooking and farming are two of my favorite things to do.
Nook Miles items that can be redeemed are now available.
If you've accumulated a large number of Nook Miles, you'll be pleased to know that we'll soon be able to spend them on a variety of new DIY recipes, items, furniture, and app upgrades in the upcoming update to Nook. We saw a slew of amazing new items for the plaza from a quick glance in the direct, including: a Plaza Balloon Wagon, a Park Fountain, a Plaza Ferris Wheel, an Inflatable Plaza toy, a Plazafree ACNH items Stand, a Plaza Merry-go-round, and more.
