Carefully read the medication guide given to you along with the drug as it may contain new information every time which is important to follow. It is taken for pain relief after every 4 to 6 hours as needed after being prescribed by the doctor. It is taken orally via mouth. If you feel nausea after taking it, then take Tramadol 50mg along with the food. The dosage is based on the problems you are having and your other medical conditions. In order to reduce the risk of adverse effect your doctor may initially give you lower doses and then slowly increase it as per need. The maximum dose for adults should not be more than 400mg and in case of older adults it should not exceed more than 300mg in a day.
Extended use of Tramadol in high doses may show withdrawal reactions. Few such reactions are:
- Nausea
- Runny nose
- Restlessness
- Sweating
- Watery eyes
Tramadol 100mg may not work well if used for long time; in that case tell it to your doctor. This drug may also cause addiction. The risk of addiction is even more in case of substance use disorder.
