Stick when catch and take or post disappear. Button from anyplace in close. Works for 2K21 MT me but it required a little practice. Is not it harder to select your layup in case you use button? I've always fought with these controls and used stick for layups. I swear I feel like I've wasted $149 (Aussie dollars). I would LOVE to be shooting 40% but I'm blessed if I could hit 20%. I only play offline. I know we have scrub players right now, and I am a below average player but badly even layups which are in the middle of the meter aren't going in. I do not even dare to try out a jump shooter. The AI appears to be absurd levels too. I understand they wish to reward skill in 2k21 but this kind of stuff will truly put off casual players and those new the 2K franchise and also new to basketball matches.

I have been playing since 2K13 but I have never been that great of a participant. I would say I'm average, but I know I shouldn't be missing all these 3s. My starter players have never played this awful in 2k16,17,18,19 and 20. The only other 2K I played with before 2K20 was 2K13 and which has been on PC. But this is a whole new level with a completely different mechanic. I did fine in the demonstration and at the quickgames using the new shooting meter but can't hit the side of a barn .

Simply played the demo, however, the stick was much more reliable than button for me. I have been a button man also. . Mostly broad open shots... and this was on allstar not even thinking to go from the rec centre. . Genuinely shooting 2/16 within an offline triple hazard game on only layups and 1 open jumpshot that airballed on marginally early. Spent $100 with this bullshit lmao. Person that the shooting is additional fine right now but I would recommend shot time like look for the que on the cartoon.

Yep I'm having trouble with it also. Launched a game on My team going 0/12 overlooking open 3s and Cheap NBA 2K21 MT midrange shots all around the place. I am all for them toning shots being nearly automatic but the system seems just a little bit too unforgiving so far. Hopefully will begin to get better after a couple more matches of getting used to it. The game just came out and we have ta brand new meter using slightly different timing.
