Irecently had a chance to experience Fort Macon while visiting the beautiful seaside town of Atlantic Beach, one of the smaller, quainter, communities located along the Crystal Coast. My wife and I had a wonderful weekend there, spending our first day exploring the fort and our second relaxing on the beach. We live in historical place Greensboro and decided that the current economic times called for a more affordable vacation this year- somewhere within driving distance. We stayed at the Peppertree Atlantic Beach, a beautiful surf side oasis with all the best amenities, which we found through a great discount vacation website called Vacation-Offer.com. To receive the discount we were required to go on a a timeshare tour of Peppertree, which was harmless and quite informative on the benefits of vacation ownership. Other than the discount lodging , which cost $99 for 2 nights, all we spent was about $50 on gas and $25 at a fantastic seafood restaurant near the resort (a grand total of $175 total for the getaway).
