We present the design of an algorithm that calculates the moving average in real-time. The proposed procedure is experimentally characterized and demonstrates significant speedup, without a significant decrease in the system accuracy. The low computational complexity of the algorithms eliminates the need for big-scale pattern recognition systems and reduces the use of power and time in iris recognition.
